🏁 Katz Coffee Scores Top-5 Finish at COTA with Michael McDowell and Spire Motorsports

Race weekend at Circuit of The Americas was about more than speed.

The No. 71 Katz Coffee Chevrolet, driven by Michael McDowell for Spire Motorsports, brought home a P5 finish at NASCAR’s first road course event of the 2026 season.

It marked McDowell’s first top-five of the year and a strong step forward for the No. 71 team.

For Katz Coffee, it was a proud moment to see our colors competing at the front on one of the sport’s most technical tracks.

But the story of COTA goes beyond the finish line.

Competing at the Front

After leading practice and qualifying sixth, the No. 71 team executed a disciplined strategy that kept them inside the top 10 all day. A late caution reshuffled the field, but with fresh tires and determination, McDowell fought back to secure fifth at the checkered flag.

It was not just a solid day. It was a statement.

The Katz Coffee Chevrolet showed speed, resilience, and the kind of performance that builds momentum for the season ahead.

Serving Coffee at the Center of the Action

While the race unfolded on track, our team was hard at work in the hospitality areas.

Katz Coffee provided full-service specialty coffee in the Media Center and designated VIP spaces throughout the weekend. From early mornings to race afternoon, guests experienced the same fresh, small-batch coffee we roast daily in Houston.

This activation would not have been possible without the support of Texas Motor Speedway, whose partnership helped bring our coffee service program to life at COTA.

Motorsports is about precision and performance. So is coffee.

Camp Hope Veterans at COTA

One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend had nothing to do with lap times.

Through our ongoing partnership with the PTSD Foundation of America, we coordinated a special experience for veterans from Camp Hope to attend the race.

Standing trackside, hearing engines roar, and sharing the atmosphere of a NASCAR weekend created something bigger than sponsorship. It created connection.

Alongside leaders like Gen. Chuck Swannack of Speedway Motorsports and Dexter Davis from the PTSD Foundation, we were reminded why this partnership matters.

Our involvement in racing is not just about visibility. It is about impact.

Built on Partnership

The No. 71 also carried the support of La Michoacana Meat Market and RnR Produce. Strong brands coming together to compete at the highest level reflects what collaboration can truly accomplish.

COTA 2026 was a weekend that brought performance, hospitality, and purpose into one place.

A top-five finish.
A full coffee activation.
Veterans at the track.

This is what it means to race with intention.

And we are just getting started.
